I now have an UNDEAD journal

Honestly, that rocks! Highly amusing. So...I had something entertaining to say yesterday, and I've totally forgotten what it was. Not much going on today. I need to read for school, practice although my lesson's been canceled for the week, and start a paper for English.

Good news: I got my official notice of Suzuki membership and registration of the Book 1 class I took this summer. If you have no idea what that means, basically, I've got teaching credentials now. It's not a really huge thing, but I'm more respectable.

Knitting news: I've got a rather interesting case of startitis. Meaning, while knitting my fingerless mitts (first one's almost done!), I've been doing this...well, how about a scarf? Maybe a bag, or wait! Let's make a blanket! But I've bought some yarn for a sweater...are those colors really compatible?
Yeah, very strange. I've read that most people get it in the spring. In any case, I went to Michaels yesterday to buy batting (I'm getting a quilt put together from blocks my great-grandma and I made years ago), and there was the yarn section. I had to buy something, and my mind went to a little blankey/afghan that my friend wanted after I made one last year. So I bought some yarn, and asked her how she liked pink. With any luck I'll be casting on for it in a day or so. Two projects at once! Oh dear. This is a very slippery slope. Soon I'll be casting on will-he nill-he and never get anything done! Nah, I'm too weird to do that.

Later,

I finished something!

Oddly enough, instead of homework, I've been knitting. And I finally finished the first mitten! (I'm slow, it took a week)
It's rather amazing, at least in my mind. It fits, it's pretty, and there may just be enough yarn left to make another (please, God, please). According to my calculations I should have enough, but one just can't know until the end. To avoid any possible thought of not starting or finishing the second mitt, I cast on immediately for number two. Just 7 1/2 inches and a thumb to go!

I really need a digital camera of my own to show ya'll this. Truly, making a useful object appear out of string is fricking cool. I'm going to go show it to my roommate now.

Ta-ta,
Greeny
