Wild Rumpus
Nov. 14th, 2008 10:12 pmTitle? Because I can.
Many interesting things have happened today. I can't remember most of them. I'm tired, and I'm laughing at my roommate too much to concentrate.
Okay, she's gone now. All I had to do was tell her to leave (which she ignored), and then plan out my violin practice aloud while taking out my violin. She has to practice her instrument (french horn), too. That's probably why she left. Motivation in the form of competition? Nah.
So...my day. No tutoring in violin. My tutoree was far too tired, so her mom let her rest. Major American Writers was good, a little slow due to the teacher being sick. I had to rip out a whole section of a square on the afghan I'm making because I cannot knit properly. I re-did that section and added the beginning of another. There was that fruitless trip because I purposefully left my frigging purse at my apartment before class but forgot I didn't have it before I left to go to Walmart.
Music History was great (see knitting note above). Studio Class was also quite good because I didn't have to play as planned (my teacher was nice enough to let me play next week). I got a hot chocolate, partially to make up for missing lunch, and watched the end of a movie (based on a book) in Progress and Poverty in the 19th Century.
Having an hour and a half until Orchestra, I ponder going to Michael's to get yarn, nah. I have to go through Mozart's (really, his student's) Requiem before we play it in Orchestra. I do so (three cheers for the productive one) and go to class. We play. We enjoy playing because our normal conductor, sorry, sarcastic, unhappy man that he is, is not involved in the Requiem. We get out. I go to dinner.
It is surprising. Usually I get very hungry and grumpy about being hungry around 11am. However, I realized this a few weeks back and now have a small snack at 10:45am before class. Then I miss lunch. But I have a drink. Then I'm not hungry for dinner! I eat, and I droop. I felt like I might do a faceplant into my refried beans.
The day is not done. It's only 5pm. I mess around on my computer, and start an earwarmer! It's in progress, about a third done at present. Then, my brothers not having shown up as promised (major, unexpected disappointment about this), I go to a senior project presentation by a friend, Matt (I've known him since Beginning Latin my first semester). At least my roommate, Julie, and my friend, Autumn, show up. A very fun presentation, about dynamic (changing) music in video games. We impulsively go out to eat at a diner afterward. The conversation was amazing. I thought this stuff only happened in books, or to other people.
Now I'm here. Me and my roommate talked for almost an hour, putting off practicing and homework. It's Friday. We're tired. Thanksgiving break is in a week. I'm so glad I got some small bits of time off before this, or my droopiness would be bad.
Good gosh, I'm busy (I do the majority of this list every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). I knew this already, but writing it out makes it real. Thank God it's only for two more weeks!
Greene (because the spell check wants it that way)
