Honestly, now that I'm back in the habit, everything seems blogworthy. A lot has happened.
Sunday: I jammed my third finger playing flag football. I pulled three flags that night, so it might have been worth it.
Monday: Played my violin on aforementioned finger. Learned on Thursday that doing that probably wasn't smart, but it didn't seem to hurt much.
Wednesday: Forgot it was Wednesday, consequently did not attend to my regular non-class activities. Felt very tired despite enough sleep.
Friday: successfully navigated classes, got sick on the way home from school. Threw up later that night.
Saturday (present): am still afflicted with the flu. It's not that bad. I am just un-enthused about eating for fear of throwing up again, and feel rather achy.
I am trying my best to complete some homework, etc. Hopefully this illness passes in time to play flag football again tomorrow, and deal with the orchestra concert coming up Tuesday.

Until the next time,
Greeny

Performance Workshop was rescheduled today because of a guest speaker, so I have until 2:30 to do whatever. I have been "ripping" music for my Music Hist. class. And eating, and getting annoyed when my laptop runs out of power because I brought no power cord to school. On the upside, I have all but one opera that I need to listen to for identification.
I seem to have posted a lot the past two days without saying much.
Tues. it started sprinkling. I was happy, a release of pressure, even if it is just in the atmosphere, always helps. I couldn't help but smile as I wandered around the U-bahn station, trying to find my somewhat elusive platform (gleis). As I took the S-bahn to my stop (last part of getting there), a very drunk man got on. I noticed first that he thanked the driver effusively, with "Danke Shön". Most people don't acknowledge the driver at all, and would probably only say "Danke" if they did. Then his rolling gait seemed overly smooth. And, finally, he spoke to me and the Indian-looking woman sitting catty corner to me (the racial diversity in all the public transports here is stunning, though there is a definite lack of truly dark-skinned people). I don't remember exactly what he said, just that it was a question of some sort. His breath was quite potent. We both avoided his gaze and he moved on to sit behind us next to another, more unfortunate woman. He talked with/at her. And the Indian woman waved a hand under her nose and coughed slightly. We smiled at each other, amused at this situation, and extremely glad there hadn't been an open seat. Then I got off, and went home.
Wednesday was fairly unremarkable, except that I now know exactly where an English bookstore is, and also that a knitting group meets on Sundays. I think I shall go and valiantly attempt to finish my current project, a pencil bag. Also, I went home just with Elana, and we talked. One on one time is unusual in an apartment with seven people, it was nice.
Today I had my first violin lesson. My teacher's name is Barbara, and she is Polish. I thought it was an odd coincidence, and I've probably said this before somewhere. The lesson was much better than expected. I think I will improve a lot over the next five weeks.

Now I have to go,
Greeny
